2006 Honda Civic steering problem

Hi there
I bought a honda civic 2006 from a salvage. The steering is too heavy nd the warning steering light is on as well. I changed the battery but it didn't help. Please help.

You need to get a scan done and report the set fault code, has this car been in a front end collision?

Yes. The car had front driver side damage. But yhe damage was only minor

If the wheel was struck, damage may have been done to the steering equipment, this must be investigated first.
