2006 Holden Barina Car switches off

The revs on my car sometimes sit very low at just under one .other times goes up to 4 while parked
.this happens while driving and therefore causing my car to turn of .if i need to change gears when turning a corner the car switches of halfway through the turn .
What could be the problem and is it too expensive to fix .

Check the idle air control valve (IAC) and check for engine vacuum leaks. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes.
