My heater is currently not working and was told that the heater core needed to be replaced. The mechanic currently unplugged the hose that goes to the heater core and re-routed is so I could still drive the vehicle since I could not afford to replace it. I would like to know if you can assist me and give me an instruction on how to replace the heater core?

This is a big job on this vehicle. I hate to say it, but I recommend you get a good repair manual with step by step instructions and pictures to help guide you. For me to try and explain this allows too much room for error.

However, was the heater core leaking? Is the engine warming up to normal operating temp? Have you tried flushing the core?
