2006 GMC Sierra center link

I was told by a mechanic that I need new outer rod ends and a new center link. on this truck the center link is just a bar so I was curious why I would need to replace it. if I changed inner and outer tie rods it should be good unless it is bent or something right?

if the inner tie rod is worn is maybe why it needs to be replaced. see pic
