Not too long ago my car was making a noise that gradually got louder and it would make the noise whether you were accellerating or not. It was a noise that was constant and would get loud then soft then loud then soft. We took it to autozone and replaced the idler pulley I believe and the noise stopped. We still have a problem. There's no noise but the lights on the car and inside the car dim every now and then and then get brighter and the battery guage fluctuates down then back to middle, and that happens when the lights dim. What could be the problem?

I have the same problem to the T. I replaced the battery and that took care of the fluctuating gauge problem. But I still have the dimming of the lights problem every now and then. Did you ever get a solution?

Hi
Just started my car after few hours after I have driven it and the car wont start at all. I mean to say there is no battery and no ignition. The orange engine light just comes on very bleakly and is and the key got stuck to ignition at one time. But there is no power at all.
Regards,
Sameh

It seemed the new battery just expired after 2 months of operation so I got it changed under warranty.

Hi there,
How did they check the battery, did they do a load test with it fully charged as this is the only true test for a battery, if so then you will need to have a current draw test done on the electrical system including the alternator as this will help locate any circuit that is drawing excessive current when it should be off.

I recently repaired my nephew's Envoy for him, and his battery kept dying overnight as well. I discovered that it was the light under the hood that was staying on and draining the battery. I unplugged it for him, and it has been fine ever since. It can't hurt to try.

Dead battery after seating 2 days, starts up when jumped. Alt. Is good and charging 15.2 volts -- 80 amps. Battery is ok after charging. The envoy elect. System only has a 300 ma discharge. This is within specs. Any ideas. Thanks
