2006 Ford Taurus. When first started for the day, there will be a quick "ching" noise when the key in the ignition is turned. It will sometimes do this during the day when started.
Also, when starting the car first thing in the morning, when the car is put into reverse to back out of the garage, I will hear a flapping noise under the hood. Once put in OD I will continue to hear the noise for about a minute and then it goes away. I am unable to "recreate" the noise in Park so that I can look under the hood while the car is running. I have, however, checked the S. belt for wear and tear and/or displacement and it seems to be fine. The flapping noise is usually noticed when the car has been started from a cold start and put into reverse and not when it has been sitting for just a few hours.
