accelerating it seems to loose power

I have a ford focus zetec climate 06 plate. When accelerating it seems to loose power and smoke comes out of the exhaust. In the car the noise resembles a large fan. Any help much appreciated.

When driving and going through the gears, the initial acceleration is okay the it looses power and smoke comes from the exhaust and a large fan type noise can be heard in the car.

the fan noise may be your radiator fan kicking in. have this pressure checked to see if there are any leaks in cooling system.
