The gas pedal randomly locks up and it takes a few minutes after continually pumping it to start working again. I noticed it does it more in the winter then in the summer. And I checked the throttle and thats not the problem what could the problem be?

If it is locking so you can't press it, chances are the throttle plate needs cleaned. I have seen situations where no matter how hard you press on the throttle, it won't move and cleaning it fixes the problem.
