2006 Dodge Stratus stalls after attempting to start

Hi, my sons 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT (2.4 cyl) would not start this morning after driving to a friends house. It attempted to start the first time, and a second time, but only turned over. It finally started the third time after letting it set for a minute. He made it back home and I worked on it all day, only to have no problem with the it starting, I tested it out, and experienced no problem then. It did not have that problem again. Do you think this may be a problem with the crankshaft sensor or something else?
