I have to be honest, it could be several things. For example, a loose heat shield, damaged catalytic converter, internal engine bearing noise... Lets start easy. Take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust system to see if you can reproduce the sound. Do this when it is cold or when you would normally hear the sound, and let me know what you find.
