I have a rattle coming from the torque converter that my mechanic friend says is a loose nut/washer that goes away under throttle pressure or when the vehicle is placed in tow/haul mode and the pressure in the transmission line is increased. Can I drive it while I accumulate the money for the necessary repair and what is the necessary repair?

the torque converter has no nuts or bolts to tighten. they are attaching bolts to the flywheel only.

yopu need a new shop for a diag that makes sense.

the converter will have to be replaced and the trans may have to be overhauled as well.
