LOOK AT THE BACKSIDE---MAYBE AT A PULLEY OR THE WATER PUMP WHERE THE SMOOTH SIDE IS AGAINST THE PULLEY

IS IT SHOWING SIGNS IF CRACKING?

ARE THE EDGES FRAYING?

HOW OLD IS THE BELT?

COULD BE THAT IT IS NOT THE BELT---MAYBE A BEARING IN A PULLEY---THE TENSIONER ---OR AN ACCESSORY SUCH AS THE ALTERNATOR, WATER PUMP, PWR STEERING ETC?

IF YOU DO DECIDE TO CHANGE ITWHILE IT IS REMOVED

SPIN THE PULLEYS WITH YOUR HANDS SEE IF THEY ARE FREE MOVING

THEN

FIRE UP AND ONLY IDLE YOUR MOTOR, FOR A MINUTE OR LESS (ANY LONGER, THE WATER PUMP IS NOT CIRCULATING WATER YOU COULD OVER HEAT)

YOU JUST ELIMINATED ANY THING BELT DRIVEN (LIGHTS WILL BE ON SHOWING NO CHARGE, ETC)

IF THE NOISE IS STILL THERE---IT COULD BE INSIDE THE ENGINE

YOUR TURN
