2006 Chrysler 300 Pls help

The car seems to be running fine and no indicator lights are on but it is making a humming noise when I push on the gas. It almost sound like low power steering fluid but make the noise upon acceleration not turning of the wheel. I'm scared to drive the car for fear of making it worse but I need to get to work. Please help!

Is the sound coming from the engine compartment?

Have you checked the accessory belt to make sure there isn't a problem there?
