2006 Chrysler 300 No Trunk light

The light in the trunk does not light. The bulb is good. Also the dash console does not show when the trunk is open. The automatic release for the trunk does work.

Look on the latch assembly for two wires. If there's a purple / orange wire, ground that one. If the two lights work when you do that, there's a problem with the switch built into the latch assembly.
