Yo

I have an 06 trailblazer. The problem is that when you turn the vehicle off you sometimes can't get the ignition to turn all the way to off and release the key. U have to jiggle the shifter to get the key to turn and then release.

There is an ignition sensor-lock that isn't lining up properly to let the ignition release the key. In my research I can't tell if it's the handle part # 15897496 or the shifter part # 15922397. In a perfect world I would replace both but I'm broke.

Which piece has the ignition key release lock in it? Is there a way to get the key to release other than jiggling the handle for 10 minutes?

Thank you

Kenneth

Hey Ken,

I would buy any part yet, take the cover off of the steering column and inspect, sometimes the bolts for the safety/shifter come lose not allowing the key to turn to the full off position, please check and get back to me.

Best, Ken
