We have been having hot days. After driving my 2006 4WD Suburban about 20 minutes, when the truck is turned off and sets for a while and then started again, the "Service 4-wheel Drive" message comes on as does the "Stability Sys Disabled". Also, none of the lights on the transfer case buttons are on. When the truck has been off for an extended period and cooled down to ambient temperature, everything returns to normal.
What should I have checked out?

I've scanned for codes and get none.
The first time it did this was after driving the truck for over 8 hours on a trip to North Carolina last Christmas. It didn't happen again until we started getting 95*+ temperatures here in Houston. Now it does it at least one a week on extremely hot days.

without looking at this I really don't know what to say . Maybe when it acts up take it and get it scanned auto parts can do this and it should show on their scanner. It's an intermittent problem and these are a real problem to diagnose. It may be a sensor going bad or even the encoder motor but i'd wait until it happens then have it scanned and see if it picks anything up. if nothing turns up then have the abs unit scanned as that will disable the stabil track system if something is wrong with it. these unit s have been known to go bad but can be rebuilt. But normally it drains the battery overnite when they are bad.
