My starter went out so I replaced it but now the starter is sticking what could be the cause was not doing this before i replaced the starter.

Sounds like the starter solenoid is sticking when the starter continues to run see if there is power to the small purple wire on the starter.If not bad starter did the problem start as soon as the starter was put in?Was the new starter tested before leaving the store?
