What does the oil life gauge read to give "oil life remaining" response on a 2006 Chevrolet Impala ?

It gives a percent value. Based on mileage and engine temp. When it is time to change oil, a warning lite should come on," change engine oil."

If something isn't correct, change every 3K miles.
