Today I cleaned my throttle body. After putting it back on and everything started up it idles at about 2300 to 2500 rpm. I was wondering how to fix this problem. It is the 2006 cobalt ss 2.4l

Make sure the IAC is working properly as well as check for vacuum leaks.

The 2006 cobalt does not have an IAC. There are no vaccum leaks. I'm looking for more along the lines of how to reset the throttle position to normal as I've read this is a normal thing when cleaning the throttle body

The only thing I can find is that the ECM needs reset with the engine off key on. Nothing regarding resetting the throttle body.

And about how long do I need to leave the key on for? And if thats not the case. What could be wrong if it isn't a vaccum leak

I would say 10 minutes. If that doesn't fix it, you may have to have it reflashed.

We charge 169 at our shop. At a dealer it may be more or less depending on your area and labor rates.
