Make sure the IAC is working properly as well as check for vacuum leaks.

The 2006 cobalt does not have an IAC.. there are no vaccum leaks.. I'm looking for more along the lines of how to reset the throttle position to normal as I've read this is a normal thing when cleaning the throttle body

The only thing I can find is that the ECM needs reset with the engine off key on. Nothing regarding resetting the throttle body.

I would say 10 minutes. If that doesn't fix it, you may have to have it reflashed.
