I have a 2006 cobalt SS that is making a weird sound when it gets over forty kilometers an hour. It sounds as though the engine is reving extremely high but there is no change in the rpm Gage.

Is yours supercharged? The problem may be with it.Maybe a vacuum leak within the supercharger system. Is the clutch slipping? I'm assuming the noise is coming from the engine compartment and not the exhaust. Check all of your belts and air cleaner/intake ducts.
