As I was driving home from work this evening my MPG went from 28 mpg to 10 mpg. What could be wrong?

Low tire pressure................. You might want to realize that asking such a general question will not allow us to give an answer that is at all meaningful. Have your Chevy service provider look into the issue. It might just be a faulty gauge.
