start i got a jump last night ran fine

2006 Chevy cobalt i drove two minutes home and the car wouldn't start when i tried to start it back up a hour later.

every time i try to crank the car up it sounds like someone is shooting

The battery is weak and it can be due to a bad battery itself or afailed alternator/charging system.

You can get the battery and alternator tested at most parts stores.
