Bad valves, Cam Chain tensioner??

This model is supercharged with a 2.0L.Oil lid smells like gas, also hear a ticking noise around the cam.

It will need taken apart to be properly checked. It could be the cam, lifters... As far as the fuel smell, it sounds like the engine is running rich on fuel. With only 59K, it is hard to believe the rings are worn.

The man at O'Reillys said it sounds like the cam chain is loose and is rubbing.

A timing chain can make noise, but not a ticking. Also, with a timing chain, they usually last a lot longer than 50K miles.

That shouldn't hurt anything. Actually, it is better for the car.
