I have a 2002 Rendezvous with about 75,000 miles its automatic with all wheel drive.
Upon leaving a restaraunt my car rather quickly started acting funny. It shifted hard in every gear, seemed to slip in every gear and my speedometer wouldn't register over 35 miles an hour, and was constantly changing even when my speed was constant. I ruled out my transmission because it was sudden and in every gear. The guys at the local autoparts store insisted it was the transmission speed control sensors. I changed one of the sensors, the one located above the transaxle on the passenger side. Unable to locate the other sensor I tried to take a test drive. The sensor was dirty with alot of metal shavings. When I took the car out driving I was now unable to even shift out of first gear. I still think that perhaps by changing the other sensor and checking my connections I'll be able to fix the problem. But where is the other speed control sensor located? Would changing the one sensor and not the other cause the car to run worse?
Thank you,
Luke
