My 2006 Buick Lucerne has a rim leak which hasn't been successfully stopped after three tries. Can I put a tube in the tubeless tire rather than buy a very expensive replacement rim?

TECHNICIANS HAVE CLEANED THE RIM, APPLIED SEALER EACH TIME, BUT CLAIM THE CORROSION HAS MADE THEIR EFFORTS FRUITLESS. I LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE SALT IS USED ON THE ROADS AND THE ALUMINUM, CHROMED RIM HAS BEEN DAMAGED. THE RIM IS AN 18 INCH TEN-SPOKED RIM.

Once the corrosion is this bad, it's time to buy a new rim.
