2006 Buick Lucerne CXS. Front end clunking noise when turning about 90 degrees right or left at low speeds, or when backing out of the driveway. You can also hear it sitting still and turning the wheel right, then again returning the wheels straight. I have had both wheel bearings replaced, new struts, the right tie rod, and even a break job. None of this helped. Any ideas?

When you had the struts replaced, were the original upper bearings reused? If it happens stationary, have a second person reach in and put a hand one one of the coils of the spring. If this noise is felt in the spring, replace the upper strut bearings.

I have a similar problem with a 2009 lucerne--I am 1500 miles from home --is it safe to drive?
