Cabin Air Filter 2006 Buick Lucern

I'm trying to replace the cabin air filter, the instructions say that I have to take off my wiper arm to acomplish this. *** do the arms come off?

Is there an easier way?

Yes, of course they come off. They would never fit through the hole in the cowl. There are nuts at the pivot holding them onto a tapered spline. The make a litter puller for getting them off.
