I have a 2006 BMW X3 and the radio will turn off by itself when I'm driving or when I have it parked.

The radio seems to be at fault, it may be something on the I bus as well, has your BMW service provider been involved yet?

The first time I took my car they said it was the wiring. The second time they said it was the radio. Thinking of removing the radio and taking it to a shop to check it out. Dealer doesn't want to do anything. Seems like it is just a short circuit that can be fixed.

There is a place in La Jolla that I have been using to repair navigation and other sensitive electronics on BMW for a while now. I cannot link you to them but here is the info: La Jolla Audio (858)581-6545
