fault code 05491

i have an audi a6 3.0 diesel quattro when i am driving i get the car going into limp mode and the engine management light comes on.my code reader tells me fault 05491.if i turn the car off then on again the light goes out,but when you start driving it comes back on again.any ideas?

Are you sure the code isnt P5491?That would make more sense.
