On the panel. an image of the car is showing, the hood section is blinking, what is wrong ?

Have you looked in owners manual? I think the hood is open.

We did not get owners manual - car was preowned.

I can't find any info on little car on dash suspect an engine sensor manlfunction. Go to an Auto Zone have checked for codes if any post will advise.
