idels fast up to 2000 rpms then falls back to 1000 then back up. put on computer said it was vaccumn leak but can't find one

How are you looking for the leak?

I don't recall a code that says "Vacuum Leak".... did you mean "system too lean"? You don't need a vacuum leak to get that code.
