Gas door says premium only 92/87 does this mean 87 is ok? Presently running regular 87, not pinging runs good?

As a general rule, abnormally aspirated vehicles (turbo- or super-charged) require higher octane fules to prevent detonation. You may not hear "pinging", but it still may be present. If you have a scan tool that provides live data, you may see "knock retard" occur upon acceleration with 87 octane fuel.

In short, if it were my turbocharged vehicle, I would use the higher octane fuel, 91 or 92.
