2005 Vauxhall Astra Car Stalls in reverse

when i start my car and put it into gear it stalls when i try to pull away...when i get it started again and put it in reverse it stalls..i can drive about for 30 minutes but as soon as its in reverse it stalls.

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Has the idle air control valve (IAC) been checked? The IAC is responsible for maintaining the engine idle speed.
