Dealer told me today we need a new front axle. Showed me where the "boots" are leaking ...like that meant something to me. I'm concerned that we are being hood-winked. The car is low mileage, though 8 years old. What are the chances that there is a problem vs. not?

I don't have any mechanic friends/family. Although, I've used the dealership for all service/repairs, they always seem to "find" something...though this is the MOST expensive, by far. $1850!

Thanks for your help!

if the boots are waking you will need to replace them. The price seems a little expensive. Try calling around and see you could do the job cheaper for you.
