My truck idled hard for a couple of days until my check engine light came on. I pulled the code for a cylinder four misfire. I replaced the ignition coil as well as all six spark plugs. First I replaced the ignition coil with a 'Duralast' part from AutoZone, but it lasted almost one day before the same problem. Next I replaced the coil with an OEM part from Toyota and the same thing happened. What do I do next?

Hello,

I would remove all coils and plug wires (if equipped) with OEM parts and recheck the way the engine runs. Here is a video that can help:

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers

P0306 on 2005 4runner, replaced plugs and switched coil to cylinder five, still throwing same code. Only idles rough during cold start, after one minute, runs smooth. Thoughts?

Mine is 4wd. I recently had the engine light come on and it was cylinder four misfire. I replaced spark plugs and it was fine. Then I started to get a rough idle when start and then it smooths out and it is fine. Then a week later the engine light came back on and it was the same cylinder misfire. So I replaced the coil pack and everything acted fine until yesterday, I started to get the rough idle back again and the same check engine code. Help?
