I just bought a 2005 Saturn Vue for a very good deal. Before I bought it, I was made aware that the driver's side back door did not open. I would much rather take care of this issue on my own rather than have to pay to get it done. Please help on any instructions or similar remedies anyone has. It is the clip in the door that I think is broken. When I hit the lock unlock button, I can feel the rod move, so I know it's not the electronics. I was told that the clip that connects the rod is most likely broken and needs to be replaced, if that is the case, please tell me how I can fix this...

You need to remove the door panel to access the linkage and determine what is wrong.

Just to add to this one you may be able to remove the inner door panel without destroying it too badly.I have never tried to remove the inner door panel on a vue without opening the door.Another suggestion is to remove the outter belt molding at the base of the window at the top of the outter door panel. Then try to flex and see whats going inside the door.
