Bought a 2005 clio in July 2014 for my son hoping he'd pass his test straight away. He only passed last week, we weren't using the car, so it wouldn't start. Got and fitted a new battery and the car is starting great but it has developed and issue that instead of ticking over @ 1000rpm, it is high revving at around 3000rpm...Any suggestions?

High idle speed is almost always due to a vacuum leak. Start by doing a visual inspection of all the vacuum hoses. There will be a sticker under the hood showing the hose routing. Also be aware that after reconnecting a battery, there are things the Engine Computer has to relearn, and idle speed might be one of them. The idle speed may come down on its own after a short drive that may involve coasting in gear from highway speed.
