My 2005 Vibe 4 cyl has 80k on it and have been told to do a tuneup by my mechanic. I plan on replacing the spark plugs and whatever else may be required-HELP PLEASE- What else? The car runs fine. Also shall I spend $9.00 per plug for Iridium plugs or $2.00 for Platinum Twin Tip- both DENSO brand. I plan on replacing the front brake pads as well and need guidance as to which type of pads to use- semi-metallic or ceramic which are much more expensive. Would appreciate the reasons for your recommendations. Another problem is the oilpan drainplug leaks slightly and was retapped recently by my mechanic using the original size plug. It still drips a few drops a day. I tightened it 1/3 turn more- it seems like it is on the verge of stripping- it won't get any tighter and is not that tight. Any suggestions?

is there some kind of seal on the drain plug? i know you can buy them at auto store. i'd try that. probably the reason i would consider ceramic pads is the less brake dust and high temp no fade resistance. if your car is running fine on the regular plugs you already have i see no reason for extra expense of iridium.
