My car has suddenly started to make a rattling.

My car has suddenly started to make a rattling sound that sounds like it's coming from under the hood. It started last night an a few times now the RPMs have randomly dropped on me while going a consistent speed and none of my lights are on. And now if I'm going up a hill or turning on to a road it feels like something in the engine isn't catching right. Help?

Check all fluids

does it sound like it is under you? Could be cat converter shield which is common

No it sounds like it's in front of me not from underneath me.

Try a spray bottle of water and spray the belt and see if the noise goes away
