The gauge cluster on my montana is going crazy.. The speddometer doesn't work half the time, the rpm gauge never..what could fix this

check wiring to the rear of the cluster. If it is good, have the cluster itself tested.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I access the wiring? And if it is not the wiring then do I need to take to a mechanic to have it checked?

The wiring is behind the cluster. You need to craw under to see it. As far as the cluster, yes, it will need a series of tests run.

The ABS light and the trac off light come on as well..could this be do to a different issue?

Yes, chances are the lights are coming on due to a faulty brake sensor.
