I have a 2005 Pontiac grand am currently with about 117,000 miles but in good condition. Recently the chirp from my alarm as well as the sound from my horn went out & I would like to know is there a certain battery that should be replaced in something or what? The doors still lock & unlock fine just no sound!

Are you getting sound from your radio?

If not, I would check your alternator and or battery to rule it out.

There is no special battery. If this is a factory alarm system, check fuses first. If they are all good, chances are you will need to have the doagnosis done at a dealer. They have the proper equipment for testing the system.
