Having trouble selecting 1st and 2nd gear on my Tata indica 1.4lsi. What is cause and fix? What is the cause of the gear selection problems in my tata indica 1.4lsi?

It sounds like you have a pilot bearing that is going bad or the clutch disc is coming part and needs to be replaced.

Good afternoon,

Will it go into gear with the car stopped and the engine off? If it does, it could be clutch related.

If it does not then it is internal in the gearbox and it must be removed and inspected for the failure. You have synchronised in the transmission for shifting and they may be worn out.
