the oil pressure gauge is on the upper reading when running only drops to high when idling the oil was changed when it has 86,000

You could have a bad sending unit. I recommend getting a mechanical gauge and checking the pressure that way. Most parts stores will lend you the gauge and it plugs right into where the present oil sending unit is located. Check that to see if your gauge is bad.
