my cigarette lighter does not work, i replaced and new fuse keeps blowing, tried larger size fuse still no luck.?

Look in the cig lighter socket see if there is anything stuck in there like coins the end of a cell phone charger i have seen all those things blow the fuse.So does the fuse blow as soon as you put the fuse in? Here is a guide to help test the fuse # 17, 7 and 5 in the interior fuse panel with the fuse location in the diagrams below.

In using the cigarette lighter socket for power source for gps system, I found that there is no power. Is there a "cut-off" somewhere for that socket used to kill it unless needed? There is no cigarette lighter, only a plastic "power source" cover.

Hi there,
Check fuse No 16 in fuse box under dash, this is the fuse for the lighter and it should be 15Amp.
