high pitch noise coming from under the dash?

My 2005 Mazda Tribute has a high pitch noise coming from under the dash and when I touch the brake peddle in stops but returns , it doesn't do it all the time what do you think could be doing this?

The noise comes on you touch brake peddle and it stops but comes back, then it might stop for awhile but will start again.

have your brakes checked it may be time for a brake job or you r vacuum booster may be leaking.

Thanks to hmac300 the noise was a leaky power brake booster , easy fix about 1/2 hour job . Again Thank you !!!!!
