when driving on freeway, car will suddenly stop accelerating. Have to put in neutral, stop the engine, re-start and then it will work again.

Mechanic claims to have the problem to be the Throttle body? but in this age of sensors, i have my doubts.

Have it scanned for codes. Not all codes will set the CEL. Also check the catalytic converter.
