When I switch from Auto to Manual by moving the Gear Stick the transmission stays in Automatic. It does this about 90% of the time. I'm guessing its a bad electrical switch. Is it likely a switch and is it easy to replace?

If there is an issue with the manual shift feature most likely there is going to be a fault code stored. Have the vehicle scanned for fault codes associated with the transmission to see if there is any. I know some automatic transmission will override the gear your in to prevent driving in a gear that is too low for the speed at which you are driving. If it is switch related it isn't too difficult to replace the switch but let me know what you find. TY
