has a very rough idle and then it will cut off?

I have a 2005 Mazda 3 i. The problem that i am having is that my car keeps cutting off. When the car is at a complete stop it has a very rough idle and then it will cut off .What could be the problem with my car. I had the O2 sensors replaced and the gas cap replaced also and it still does the same thing. Please help!

Hello,

It sounds like you could have a clogged exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
An EGR valve works by recirculating little bit of the exhaust gas back to the the engine.
The EGR will get dirty and have gunk buildup inside of it and that will restrict airflow. When that happens the idle quality sufferers.
Sometimes it will trigger the check engine light.
