Engine light blinking rough idle when stop, I brought to a mechanic he said ,there a misfire on number 8 plug
he changed the spark plug and coil ,still the problem exist. Now, does the car need a compression test ?
the mechanic does not have that machine. ....Further more, I went to JustAsk web. and the expert told me to swap the # 7 and #8 , I attempted to do it myself, but the harness of the #8 coil too short reach #7 in order to swap. Is that true ? Can you please tell me what next move to fix this car ?

That's not what he meant. He meant to remove the coils and trade places with the coils but since you already replaced the coil, that's kind of a waste of time.

Yes, you need to do a compression test and that should have been done before the coil was replaced. If the compression is good, you need to test for the proper signal arriving at the coil and the injector for that cylinder. Ford does have a common problem with the computer coil drivers failing and causing misfires. That would require a new computer to resolve if that is found to be the issue.
