On my 2005 landrover freelander se the abs hdc and tc lights came on. I know I'm due for an oil change but how serious are those lights and what do they mean

That is your hill descent control, antilock brake system, and traction control lights. They all read vehicle speed. You may have a wheel speed sensor or a vehicle speed sensor that's going bad. Those are also modulated with the ABS control unit. It could also be going bad. Having those codes read will tell you what to do next
